Age Range: Grade 1 to 2
Breeze Choir
All children in grades 1 and 2 are welcome to this fun 45 minute class which introduces singing and musical skills through songs and games. The class also prepares singers for participation in Echo our youngest performance group. Breeze takes place Wednesdays from 3:15-4:00.
Age Range: Grade 3 to 5
Echo Choir
Echo Choir is our youngest performance choir for singers in grades 3-5. Singers experience the art of choral singing through practice and performance. Reading music and singing in multiple parts are key skills learned by singers at this level preparing them for the next level of choir, River Choir. Rehearsals for this group are Wednesdays from 4:00-5:15. Registration for this choir includes a brief audition and meet and greet with Artistic Director Jennifer Abbott.
Age Range: Grade 6 to 12
River Choir
River Choir is composed of singers in grades 6-12 who come together through their shared love of singing and music. The repertoire is varied, singing everything from Classical and Baroque music to Pop and Jazz. This is a high level choir where singers experience singing in multiple parts, singing in different languages, and exploring all vocal colours and ranges. This choir is also our touring performance choir. Every other year we endeavor to travel internationally to choir festivals working with world renowned conductors and composers. This choir requires a high level of commitment from singers. This choir rehearses Wednesdays 5:30-7:30. Registration for this choir includes an audition with Artistic Director Jennifer Abbott
Age Range: Adults & Alum
Zephyr Choir
Zephyr Choir began as a group of dedicated choir alumni. Many of these singers grew up in the choir and were excited to come back to share their love of choral singing and the choir family that many of them grew up in. Zephyr has evolved into an auditioned women’s choir that enjoys the challenge of singing sophisticated repertoire. This choir rehearses on wednesdays, 7:00-8:30.
